It’s the Season After Pentecost, Monday, Proper 21 in the Church Calendar

We usually post weekly based on Sunday readings. This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with a post Monday through Friday.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer (1979) Daily Office. We’ll sing the song “Softly and Tenderly” by Will Thompson (1880). We’ll then offer a Prayer of Confession. We’ll read Psalm 89:1-18 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture Lesson is Luke 5:1-11 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Today’s episode is in remembrance of a great friend of the podcast who passed away into the presence of Jesus this week. She wrote the order of service for this special episode. We remember Laura Ulicky and her heart for prayer. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
