A Song Somewhere Inside – Morning Prayer for Easter

It’s the Second Friday of Easter in the Church Calendar. April 21, 2023.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Friday.

Praying today for Darko.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. Singing a new song I wrote called, “Somewhere Inside.” We’ll read Psalms 16 and 17 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Gospel reading is Luke 3:15-22 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Second Sunday of Easter, Rite Two – Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Somewhere Inside
Ben Ward, 2023

I’ve got a song somewhere inside
I know it’s there
But it’s out of reach tonight
In the middle of nowhere
If You could just plug it in
I can barely make it out
Turn it up
Doesn’t have to be loud
Or profound
I long to sing the song
You put in me
Its melody
Aching with the sound

Oh….oh….
Ah…ah…
I sing to my Maker
Created to Creator
I sing to my Savior
Who’s poured on me His favor
Oh….oh….
Ah…ah…
