Faces Radiant – Morning Prayer in Ordinary Time

Kicking off a summer giving campaign this week! Would you sow towards the ministry of Morning Prayer?

It’s Thursday of Ordinary Time, Proper 6 in the Church Calendar. June 22, 2023.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Wednesday through Friday.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “Faces Radiant” a meditation on Psalm 34:5 by me with a prayer of confession. We’ll read Psalms 83 and 34 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture lesson is Acts 2:22-36 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

If you have a prayer request please submit it here. Sign up here for the email list.

Proper 6 – Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Meditation on Psalm 34:5 by Ben Ward

Faces radiant
Hearts content
Voices praising
Tongues speak with Your accent
Looking to You
Not away in shame
Tasting new
No way to explain

Your love
Your peace
Your purpose
The feast of Your freedom
Released as we seek
The only One
who meets our deepest need
Oh You never leave
