Celebrating Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, 373 in the Church Calendar. May 2, 2023.

Praying today for Amy and her mother Pearl, Riverside, CA, USA

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Friday.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. Singing “Is He Worthy?” by Andrew Peterson and Ben Shive with a prayer of confession. We’ll read Psalm 71:1-8 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Gospel reading is Matthew 10:22-32 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, 373 – Uphold your Church, O God of truth, as you upheld your servant Athanasius, to maintain and proclaim boldly the catholic faith against all opposition, trusting solely in the grace of your eternal Word, who took upon himself our humanity that we might share his divinity; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
