Thanks for praying and worshiping with me today. As always, our Scripture readings and general order come from the Book of Common Prayer (1979) Daily Office. In the Church calendar, it is Ordinary Time, Proper 28. We’ll begin with a sung version of 2 Chronicles 16:9a: “For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” This sung phrase will weave its way throughout today’s episode. After a prayer of confession, we’ll read Psalm 123 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Lesson is 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11. After the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day, we’ll sing, “Be Still My Soul” by Kathrina von Schlegel (translation by Jane Borthwick) and Jean Sibelius. Then we’ll enter a time of guided prayer. Photograph by me 🙂

  1. “The eyes of the Lord” makes it so vivid as to God’s desire to make us his own. What a lovely reality.
Again, Ben shows us his heart for his listeners as he prays for them meaningfully and tenderly.
