Turn your ear to my cry - Morning Prayer, Friday, Proper 20

It’s Friday of Ordinary Time, Proper 20 in the Church Calendar. September 29, 2023.

Praying today with Kristy for Grace.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “Hosanna” by Brooke Ligertwood with a prayer of confession. We’ll read Psalm 88 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture lesson is 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day followed by a time of spontaneous, prompted prayer.

Proper 20 – Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
