What Can I Give Him? - Morning Prayer for the Fourth Thursday of Advent

It’s the Fourth Thursday of Advent in the Church Calendar.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Sunday, Christmas Day.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “In the Bleak Midwinter” by Christina Rossetti and Gustav Holst. We’ll then offer a Prayer of Confession. We’ll read Psalm 80 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture Lesson is Luke 1:39-56 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Collect of the Day
Fourth Sunday of Advent, Rite Two
Purify our conscience, Almighty God, by your daily visitation, that your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion prepared for himself; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
