It’s The Fifth Friday in Lent in the Church Calendar. We are celebrating the life of John Donne, Priest, 1631. March 31, 2023.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Friday.

Praying today for Jess in Pennsylvania, USA.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “He Loves Us” by John Mark McMillan. We’ll read Psalm 16:5-11 followed by the Gloria Patri. We’ll read John Donne’s Holy Sonnet “Batter my heart, three-person’d God”. We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

If you have a prayer request please submit it here. Sign up here for the email list.

Collect of the Day – John Donne, Priest, 1631, Rite Two – Almighty God, the root and fountain of all being: Open our eyes to see, with your servant John Donne, that whatever has any being is a mirror in which we may behold you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
