Join me, Ben Ward, as we pray, sing and worship together. We’ll read a Psalm and Scripture passage from the Daily Office in the Book of Common Prayer (1979). We’ll also say the Apostles’ Creed and Lord’s Prayer as we pray for ourselves and others and give thanks to Jesus. Every week from Atlanta, Georgia.

The Eyes of the Lord – Morning Prayer and Worship Morning Prayer and Worship

Thanks for praying and worshiping with me today. As always, our Scripture readings and general order come from the Book of Common Prayer (1979) Daily Office. In the Church calendar, it is Ordinary Time, Proper 28. We’ll begin with a sung version of 2 Chronicles 16:9a: “For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” This sung phrase will weave its way throughout today’s episode. After a prayer of confession, we’ll read Psalm 123 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Lesson is 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11. After the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day, we’ll sing, “Be Still My Soul” by Kathrina von Schlegel (translation by Jane Borthwick) and Jean Sibelius. Then we’ll enter a time of guided prayer. Photograph by me If you have a prayer request please submit it at http://benwardmusic.com/prayerrequest. A Short Break & YouVersion

Just wanted to let you all know that I’m taking short break in the podcast. Hopefully be back soon. Work ramped up last week with several projects!

Do know that I’m continuing to pray the Daily Office and follow the reading plans. If you’d like to join me on YouVersion click here. You have to do a small hack to get it to sync up with the correct day…

To reset the start date for your plan or to sync your plan with others:

  1. Open the plan you’d like to reset
  2. Determine which day (not the date but the day of the plan) you’d like to be on – this example uses day 352 as the day you’d like to be on
  3. Select day 351 and mark all of the passages for that day as read
  4. Check to make sure that none of the days after day 351 are marked as read
  5. Select day 352 to make it the active day – this will be your new ‘Today’
  6. Select the three dots icon in the upper right
  7. Select Catch Me Up

Today (10-10-18) is Day 352 😊.

Let me know if you have any problems!! Thanks as always for praying with me and I look forward to resuming the podcasts soon!

Singing songs that rhyme your name

Talking things over, they went on into the house, where Cornelius introduced Peter to everyone who had come. Peter addressed them, “You know, I’m sure that this is highly irregular. Jews just don’t do this—visit and relax with people of another race. But God has just shown me that no race is better than any other. So the minute I was sent for, I came, no questions asked. But now I’d like to know why you sent for me.”

Our music for today is “Sinking Deep” by Hillsong Young & Free.

Readings for today…Psalm 18, Job 8:1-10, 20-22, Acts 10:17-33, John 7:14-36

Look Life in the Eye

Jesus came back at them, “Don’t crowd me. This isn’t my time. It’s your time—it’s always your time; you have nothing to lose. The world has nothing against you, but it’s up in arms against me. It’s against me because I expose the evil behind its pretensions. You go ahead, go up to the Feast. Don’t wait for me. I’m not ready. It’s not the right time for me.”

Our music for today is an original song by Stephanie White and me called “More.”

Readings for today…Psalms 119:1-24, 12, 13, 14, Job 6:1; 7:1-21, Acts 10:1-16, John 7:1-13
