It’s the Fifth Friday of Easter in the Church Calendar. May 12, 2023.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Friday.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. Singing the hymn, “Be Still My Soul,” by Kathrina von Schlegel and translated by Jane Borthwick with a prayer of confession. We’ll read Psalm 106:1-18 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Gospel reading is Luke 8:40-56 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Fifth Sunday of Easter – Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
