It’s the Second Monday of Advent in the Church Calendar. Celebrating the life of Clement of Alexandria, Priest, c. 210.

This week we are following the Daily Office lectionary with an episode Monday through Friday.

Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” by Charles Wesley and Rowland Prichard and “I Love Your Presence” by Jessie and Darren Clarke. We’ll then offer a Prayer of Confession. We’ll read Psalm 34:9-14 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture Lesson is John 6:57-63 . We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day. We’ll then have a time of prompted prayer.

Collect of the Day
Clement of Alexandria, Priest, c. 210, Rite Two
O God of unsearchable wisdom, you gave your servant Clement grace to understand and teach the truth as it is in Jesus Christ, the source of all truth: Grant to your Church the same grace to discern your Word wherever truth is found; through Jesus Christ our unfailing light, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
